USA E-Bike Market

Fort Myers has just published a research report about the market condition of electric bikes in the USA. This report was made on the basis of the information of different sources like dealer’s interview, phone surveys, and Internet research.

The report revealed just how big the e-bike market has grown from last year. The 2012 estimated sales of e-bikes were approximately 70,000, and according to the current report, sales from July 2012 to July 2013 broke the estimated sales amount by a double!! During this time, around 159,000 e-bikes were sold!

According to the report, not only one or two brands are ruling the market, but many brands of e-bikes are being sold - around 130+ brands were sold by 900+ dealers. Not only physical stores have grown selling of e-bikes but the sales online also doubled at the same rate. Though 54 brands are completely new in USA, they still achieved a good sales number, mainly because they are offering new categories of e-bikes rarely available before.

Another interesting fact reveled by the new report is that only 2 e-bike brands are manufactured completely in the US and all the others are imported from China or Taiwan, and some come from Europe too.

So the market is certainly getting much bigger but it seems to be ruled by Chinese products.
